Going to Work with Mom

The girls came with me to work this afternoon. They have been wanting to try out the Smartboard there and they did great and even taught me a few new things to use it for!

There was a lot of school being played today with one of the girls on the smartboard and one at the markerboard for a couple of hours.

Lucy at the smartboard.

The girls geared up to go check on the guys installing windows on the building. Lucy was great at picking up nails out on the site. We could use her on the cleanup crew. Grace was more interested in making sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing......I wonder where she gets that from (her Dad obviously).

Halloween fun begins.....

The girls had their Halloween parties at dance this week. They had a good time and since they are both in two clasess got more then enough candy already.....
Grace as her 'dark' bride, the skirt lights up, she thinks it is pretty cool.

Lucy is Snow White in her class above.

Weekend in Madison

We spent the weekend in Madison and had a great time. Dad had to be in Madison on Friday and Monday for an interview for renovations at Camp Randall (GO BIG RED! and in case you missed the game Saturday night, Wisconsin really is the big RED, not Nebraska!) so we all drove down together Thursday night and spent Friday with Becky, Cal and Leyton at the new Children's Museum in Madison. Saturday we hit the Farmer's Market at the Capital and watched the game.

Lucy, Grace and Leyton on the rooftop of the Children's Museum (that's the capital in the background).

All of the kids trying out the hoola hoops.

Cal demonstrating his skills at the Children's Museum.

Lucy and Mom in the Gerbil wheel. It is suspended from the 2nd floor so when you look down it is a little scary.

Leyton giving the wheel a try with Aunt Kelly.

Grace and Lucy taking their turn in the wheel.

Grace at the painting wall.

The kids sitting on the dog.

Checking out the inside of the Capital with Dad.

Mom and Lucy in the new hats we bought!

Getting ready for fall

Grace and Lucy clearing a stick off the trail.
Grace trying out Dad's deer stand.

Lucy taking her turn........

It has been a while since our last post. School is going great for both girls. They like their teachers and are busy with dance and Girls Scouts already. Today we went up to the land to check for signs of deer. We found lots so that is good and we found about 8 apple trees as well with a ton of apples.

First Day of School

The girls had their first day of school today. Hard to believe we have a 2nd grader and a kindergartener, the time really does go fast! They did great and were excited to go and were still pretty excited when they got off the bus this afternoon!

Here is Lucy standing by her chair in her classroom this morning.

Here are the girls posing before we left this morning.

Here they are getting off the bus, not a great picture they came off so fast I didn't have much of a chance to get more pictures!

Grace's 7th Birthday

Grace had her friends over for her birthday on Sunday and they had a great time. Her cupcakes were a big hit.

Here she is with all of her friends after opening presents.

August Birthdays

Last weekend we headed up to Rice Lake and stayed with Aunt Jessie, Lauren, Ella and Luca while Dad fished two tournaments up there (Uncle Dan was gone fishing too). On Saturday we headed over to the McNamara family cabin to celebrate Grace, Lucy and Ella's birthdays. We had a great time, thanks for all the stuff everyone!

Six of the eight grandkids all kind of looking at the camera =)
Lucy enjoying the new plasmacar from Aunt Becky, Uncle Eric, Leyton and Cal. It is pretty fun, the whole family has tried it out, that includes Mom and Abby!
This picture was funny to me, it is a group effort by all the kids to open presents these days, I don't think it matters whose actual birthday it is, they all have great time with each other.
