Looking forward to Easter

When we stopped at Family Fresh today the Easter bunny was there and took a photo with the girls.  We are looking forward to having family over for Easter tomorrow.   We have been brainstorming where exactly to hide the eggs with all the snow and now rain today!  Grace said she thinks we will have snow until August......I sure hope not.

Skiing

We headed up to Trollhaugen today for another day of skiing.  Tina, Susie, Maggie, Grandma and Grandpa came this time.  We had a great time and the girls are doing awesome skiing.

Grandma getting ready to hit the slopes.
Dad and Lucy on the chair lift.  The new goggles worked great today!
 Grace in her goggles.
 Lucy skiing on her own.
Grace tried it with poles today for awhile and decided that she liked it.
Both times we have gone the girls haven't wanted to leave, so that is a good sign.  We have had great weather both times too so that has helped.  As much as we are excited for Spring it is kind of sad thinking this may be our last time out this year.  Part of the motivation to get us all out there was my upcoming trip to Utah with friends.  I have a feeling the skiing will be a little different than here but it is fun to get out for the day with the family and get some practice in =).

4H Mini Talent Explosion

The girls had the 4-H Mini Talent Explosion yesterday in Baldwin.  We have been busy over the last two months with drama and music practices with both girls.  They did great and didn't seem nervous at all about performing.

As part of the program the Cloverbuds can say the 4-H pledge.  Lucy is a cloverbud so she did the pledge with her group first yesterday morning and earned a speaking ribbon that she is very proud of.
"My hands for larger service..........."
We hosted some of the drama practices at our house, here are some of the kids getting comments back from the director on their parts.

Here is the drama group in their costumes.  The play was called Monsters Eat Whiny Children.

The girls were part of the musical group was well.  They got a first place ribbon for their performance yesterday!

Winter fun with our cousins

We have been trying to take advantage of the snow and all the outside opportunities it presents.  We have been sledding a few times at the elementary in New Richmond just like Mom and her sisters used to do as well as ice skating.  We are planning a skiing and snow tubing outing yet this year also.  This past Saturday, well the first half of the day anyway, was perfect for being outside.

Here are Leyton, Grace and Lucy on one of our first outings that was pretty chilly, I think it was New Year's Day and it was cold but they had fun looking for 'diamonds.'  These are broken pieces of sleds that they find buried in the snow =) To have that imagination.......
Here are Lucy and Mom ice skating.
Grace with her little Hanna Anderson twins.  We took a picture of them all lined up in their matching snow outfits, pretty cute.
Lucy ice skating, she really liked it and reminded me that Grace got to take skating lessons and said she would like to do that also =)
 Grace posing on the ice.
This sled that the Weimert's brought was great we could fit a bunch of the cousins on here.
The clan walking up the hill.  We are amazed at how great the kids do trekking back up the hill.  They love it and haven't complained yet.
It is hard to tell but the kids are way down the hill in this picture and are just starting their trek back up, they look so cute all lined up and Lucy is on her way down to meet them.

Tommy's Baptism

A couple of weeks ago we got to be part of Tommy's Baptism.  He was a very happy little guy and it was a nice service.  Afterwards we had brunch with the family.

Christmas 2012

It is hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone already this year.  The girls were definitely into the Holiday spirit this year and we had a great time with all of our family and friends over the past couple of weeks.  On Christmas Eve we hosted the McNamara family Christmas where Santa made an appearance.

All of the cousins with Santa, minus Maggie and Tommy who were in Missouri for Christmas.
The girls and I by the tree.  Dad and the rest of the guys were busy playing a game of Mexican dominoes so Dad is missing from the family picture.
The girls tearing into their presents Christmas morning.
Grace hard at work with her young Architect kit.  She really likes it and I said if it helps her do better in her drafting classes in college than I did, more power to her!

Lucy showing off one of her presents.

Grace opening her present from Grandma and Grandpa.
Lucy opening her Polly Pockets from Maggie and Tommy.  She was pretty excited about them.

Thanks to everyone we got to see and spend time with over the Holidays, it is a great time to really be thankful for all the wonderful people we have in our lives.

Sunday School Program

Even with the snow today the girls had their Sunday school program.  They each had speaking parts, Lucy as an angel and Grace as a reader.  They did a great job!

Lucy and Grace before the program, Grace didn't want a picture with her sister at this moment.

Lucy and the rest of the angels during their part.
