Lake Superior

We headed up to Lake Superior with family this past weekend and had a great time.  It is always fun to watch the kids play together.  We had great weather and we celebrated Grace and Lucy's birthdays with the family.

Lucy coming out of the water.......it was a bit chilly at times but still felt great!
 Grace and Fiona.

 Lucy snorkeling.
So this was kind of the like the last post of all the cousins jumping in together, this one worked a little better as they were all sitting but still took a lot of work =)
 Grace with magformers.
 Lucy and her new rollerblades.

Swimming with our cousins

A week ago we decided to try and get a picture of the older cousins jumping in together.  Well, there are 8 of the 11 that can jump in off the edge and we started with 7 of them lined up but you can tell by the pictures that the most successful attempt was with a group of 5 of them.  Hopefully every year gets better =).

Lucy and Sparkles

Lucy has a just like me American Girl doll that she named Sparkles two years ago, I think Grandpa helped name her =).  One of her birthday presents was an outfit for her and her doll so they could match.  It worked out perfectly since her newest pair of cowboy boots are purple just like Sparkles new boots!

Grace turns 9.........almost =)

Grace had her party with her friends this weekend, her actual birthday is next Sunday the 25th but this weekend worked best for schedules.  She is turning into a little lady quite quickly, I am starting to get some of those looks like Mom you are not cool and you don't know what you are talking about.  I know I have many more years of this =).  She is a very caring girl and is always taking care of those around her.

She got the Barbie cake........finally!  I have been pointing it out to both of them for years every time we go to order a cake but something else always beats Barbie but Grace went for her this year and it was very good and she got a new doll.
Posing with her friends before we cut into Barbie.
Getting the candy from the pinata.  These girls can definitely hit harder.....it only made it through two girls before it hit the ground!
She got two new Monster High dolls from her friends that she is very excited about.

Lucy's 7th Birthday

Lucy turned 7 last weekend.  It is hard to believe that she is that old.  I told someone the other day that when we moved home from Kansas City to start Target Field she was 7 months old and now she is 7 years old.  It truly is crazy how fast the time goes by.  She is an outgoing, active girl.  She loves her dolls, dancing, riding bike, swimming and her family.  Dave would say she is pretty attached to her Mom and I am totally fine with that =).
She had her first sleepover birthday party with 5 of her friends.  All the girls did great.
Opening presents down by the pool.
All the girls checking out one of the presents.

Meeting Elle and Quinn

After the State Fair on Friday we headed to my roommate from college, LaNae's house.  She has two little girls that we hadn't met yet.  On Saturday we headed to the splash pad by their house.  It was great to see her and her family.

Lucy getting the bucket dumped on her.  The water is ice cold but she didn't mind.
Grace and Elle hanging out around the edge.  Elle did mind the cold water a little more than Lucy but got used to it after awhile.
Here is a picture of all four of the girls.  We decided we need to do better at seeing each other and decided we would go their way in the winter and they would come our way in the summer =).

Wisconsin State Fair

We headed down to Milwaukee on Thursday for the Wisconsin State Fair.  The girls' 4-H Musical performed three times on Friday.  It was a fun trip and we all had a great time at the fair.

 Grace and Camille's piano duet.
The girls think they are getting too big to stick their heads in these things but Mom doesn't.  I had to beg them to at least do one.

Doing a craft at the Kohl's Art Station.
I got this photo for their fairbooks, which we need to get going on =)

The day was a fun mix of their performances and walking around exploring the fair.  We got there at about 8:30 am and left at 6:30 pm so we were all a little tired but kept thinking of things that we had wanted to do and forgot to go back too!
